Exhortation: Subomi Ibitoye
Topic: Breaking Down the Wall
This message is about getting close to God
2 Corinthians 3:18
- We can’t please both God and man.
John15:18-19
- To live a life that pleases God, you must be ready to not follow others, to not be liked, etc. Pleasing God should precede your own pleasure.
- Truth is, it IS hard to live this life by your own ability. You need the Holy Spirit.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God….
- Building a relationship with God is like dating:
~You want to focus on the other person.
~You want to listen to them tell you about themselves. - Spending time with God is not just beneficial to the spirit, but also the physical. You find that there’s this inner peace that carries you even through those stormy days.
- Also, when you commune with the Holy Spirit, He will show you areas in your life that you need to work on, and help you with that as well.
- Listen and obey God, even when it does not make sense! Look at the examples of Abraham, Moses, Joshua, etc.
- God will break protocol for you.
” God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him “
- You can never obey God and lose; learn to magnify God over your problems. How big or small our problems are is up to us. It’s all about perspective.
- God has a plan for us, and even our mistakes are not strong enough to derail those plans; He has factored those mistakes into His plan for you.
Think of the likes of David; how he became the lineage of Jesus Christ. - He is the vine and we are the branches; it means He is the source of our nutrients.
- At the end of the day, we need to break down those walls of fear, doubt…anything that separates us from God.
- All you need to do is to trust & obey; spend time with Him.
- AGREE with God, His plan for your life, and abide in Him.
- Whatever your situation, trust God; He will exceed your expectations.
“Trust, obey and abide in Him”
Hallelujah!
