Topic: THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE

How can we identify it? What is attached to it? 

HOW DO WE KNOW IF WE HAVE THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE? 

What are the traits of the spirit of pride (also known as the Spirit of Leviathan)?

IT MANIFESTS THROUGH: 

– Cursing and lying

Psalms 59:12

– Boasting (to be puffed up in speech; self-glorifying)

– Arguing and disputing.

Texts: 

James 3:8 (taming the tongue)

Job 41:34 (king of the children of pride)

Isaiah 27:1 (God’s punishment)

– This spirit is one of the most difficult to defeat.

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble”. 

– Walking in humility is not easy.

– Some people never seem to overcome the spirit, and end up failing.

– It’s DIFFICULT because of the scale, representing the different demons attached to it.

Job 41:15 (Leviathan reference)

Psalms 71:14

– Pride(Leviathan) is able to shield itself with other spirits, symbolized by the scale (its protection shield from attacks).

– The only way to walk free of it is to DE-SCALE it (remove the shield) by recognizing anger, anti- submission, boasting, arrogance, control, unforgiveness, contention, cursing, rebellion,  destruction  disobedience, ego, haughtiness, rejection, intellectual, mockery, lust, etc.

– NEVER attack it; we don’t have the power; must engage the Lord Jesus Christ to do it.

– Pride blocks a person from flowing in the spirit, praying, worshipping.  

– Some christians are in a “religious” state, while victims of pride.

– PRIDE hinders Christian’s advancement/growth/development.

The Leviathan spirit has identical traits with the spirits of Jezebel & The Python (they are intertwined), so when dealing with one, you must address them all, but individually.

– Dismantle them with repentance(this weakens their power)

– If you have to deal with one, you have to deal with all of them.

– Leviathan rules over many religious groups who reject the baptism of the Holy spirit.

– Pride is a spirit that tells us “You have it all”, “your denomination is right, and every other one is wrong”.

– Groups of demons link together to protect Leviathan.

Job 41:17

– Demons draw strength from each other from linking together, and link together to hold someone bound.

– This spirit breaks covenants (you can never enter a covenant with it)

– This spirit will never negotiate with you

– The spirit blocks healing, prosperity, health.

– It is the same spirit that caused Lucifer to fall from Heaven.

Isaiah 14:12

Psalms 51

There is sin, transgression, then iniquity:

– Sin is a thought process, because it always begins with a thought, but when we put it to action, we’ve transgressed.

– Then there’s the iniquity: we sin over and over, can’t breakthrough; we struggle because of the generational sin.

– Leviathan is one of those iniquities that stems from generations.

– It is transferred to us THROUGH our parents’ sin that brings us to this world.

– Wherever there is Leviathan, you will find shame and fear.

– Leviathan is a strong man.

“Before entering a strong man’s house, we must bind him”

– In this case, we must ask the Lord Jesus Christ to BIND Leviathan.

HOW DO WE BREAK THE POWER OF PRAYERLESSNESS, NO BIBLE-STUDYING?

– Murmuring and complaining SETS YOU back ONE year (on whatever you were getting close to)

Assignment: Examine yourself, and search for any traits of pride.

– We need to clean our house – our body (the temple of the Lord)
